62% of India’s urban population is deficient in micro-nutrients in diet

A recent study by National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) has found that the diet of 62% of the urban population are deficient in micro-nutrients.

Micro-nutrient deficiencies or deficiencies of vitamins and minerals, often referred to as hidden hunger mainly due to diets that are insufficient in vegetables, fruits, whole grains and millet, are not apparent but are affecting more than two billion people globally; 1/3rd of the residing in India.

Eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and millet seems to be the only solution!
