Beetroot can reduce cholesterol

Eating beetroot regularly may be able to reduce your cholesterol; not just total cholesterol but also the bad cholesterol (LDL).

It is the bad cholesterol that is largely responsible for people getting heart attacks.

Beetroot is rich in soluble fiber and that seems to reduce the bad cholesterol.

Including some beetroot in your daily salads may be a good idea. However, this does not mean you will immediately stop taking anti-cholesterol medications in case you are already taking; let your treating doctor decide that.
