Daytime nap may cause diabetes

Although daytime nap may be a great thing for some people to improve their work efficiency, nonetheless, it may cause type-2 diabetes.

A research found that daytime sleepiness and taking hour-long naps could lead to diabetes.

The studies for daytime sleepiness came from Finland, Sweden, Germany, Spain while for napping came from US, Germany and China.

Daytime sleepiness was found to increase the risk of diabetes by 56% while napping more than 60 minutes increased the risk by 46%.

A shorter nap (less than 60 minutes) was not associated with risk of getting diabetes.

A shorter nap is good, but a long snooze may lead to diabetes.
