Fast food not good for kid’s brain

In a study involving 8500 school children it was found that eating junk food is linked to poor scores in school tests.

This was revealed in a reserach led by Dr. Kelly Purtell at Ohio State University.

Researchers said it is possibly due to lack of iron in fast food that leads to slowing in development of certain processes in the brain. The consequences of a poor diet published in Clinical Peadiatrics suggests that children those who regularly eat at McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, etc. do not perform as well in school as their peers.

Fast food is popular because it is cheap and kids who have them are from poor economic background where parents are also less able to provide kids other things to learn such as books, a personal study space and parental help.
