How often are you angry

It is okay to be angry once in a while; but if you are getting angry too often, it may not be good for your heart.

In fact doctors now consider anger as a risk factor for heart attack as much as high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension, etc.

Moderate, infrequent anger may not be a problem but frequent explosions of anger is !

People those who hurl objects or scream at others may be at a higher risk for heart disease, as well as those who harbor suppressed rage, says Laura Kubzansky, an associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health in Cambridge, Mass.

Anger activates the ‘fight or flight response’ in which stress hormones, adrenaline and cortisol are released that increase your heart rate and breathing and give you a burst of energy. Blood Pressure also rises as vessels constrict.

Further, it has been noted that anger and hostility are associated with increased incidence of heart problems in initially healthy people, and has an even worse outcome in patients already diagnosed as having heart disease.

In the changing world, the reasons for you to be upset or angry are more than anytime in the history of mankind. Hence the need to re-look at your own self rather than try to control something that is beyond your control.

Remember, anger harms you more than anybody else. In fact, it hardly harms the other party or not as much as you intended.

It may well be wise to vent your anger once in a while.

If you are one who gets angry often, it is advised to understand Anger Management.
