Reasonable health

Imagine being in a healthy state and not being happy. It sounds like a paradox. And if not in a happy state then a person cannot be in a healthy state as the psychological health is poor due to lack of happiness. Similarly it is difficult to produce a healthy state if there is no happiness.

Being happy is the mantra. Create happiness, spread happiness in order to be in a healthy state.

Health is required to enjoy happiness and happiness is one of the important ingredients required to produce health.

So, what is health?

Health is having a level of efficiency of the body that allows a human being to effectively manage and adapt to face day to day challenges – be it physical, mental, social or any other.

Often there is a discussion on complete health or perfect health. However, in the real world, the author believes, there is no complete health or perfect health; there is reasonable health.

Reasonable health is a state of health where a person is able to happily and effectively perform with reasonable ease activities that are needed for survival without getting disturbed by people around or community at large.

All our efforts (proper diet, regular exercise, rest, sleep, etc.) will help us achieve reasonable health.

So don’t be disturbed if you don’t have complete health or perfect health as perceived by people around you. They don’t have it either. A disturbance like this will only lead to a poor psychological health and that is not even reasonable health then.

Aim for reasonable health and be happy which in turn will produce health!
