Texting while walking is dangerous

A study done at the University of Queensland found that texting while walking leads to uneven walking, a slower pace, rigid posture and poor balance; all a perfect recipe for accidents.

People are falling down the stairs, bumping into walls and even colliding with moving traffic as they ‘walk the text’.

An analysis of hospital data conducted at Ohio State University in the U.S  found that injuries involving cell phone use while walking more than doubled between 2005 and 2010. American researchers are experimenting with techniques to prevent the practice as pedestrian deaths rise around the country.
A simple advice would be to stand in a safe place or actually sit down comfortably and text. After the texting is completely over, continue your walk and enjoy the world around you. It is not worth injuring yourself or giving your life to write a silly text.
