How to prevent pimples (acne)

We all dread pimples (acne) because they tend to leave scars.

It is also a fact that everyone gets pimples. It spares no one. Worse, it sometimes lingers into the 20s and beyond.

So the question is can you prevent acne from appearing. And the answer is No.

Yet we have this article that discusses certain things that may reduce the frequency, number and severity of the acne.

  1. Wash your face many times a day with plain water. Use soap or face cleanser only once or twice a day.
  2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily, of which at least a glass after waking up in the morning.
  3. Eat lots of fruits, plain green salads (without dressings) and vegetables.
  4. Eat freshly prepared foods, clearly avoiding tinned foods.
  5. Avoid deep fried foods. In fact, use minimal oil to cook food.
  6. Avoid junk foods.
  7. Eat carrots.
  8. Vitamin B-complex is known to help reduce acne from appearing.
  9. Exercise at least 4-5 times per week, each day for about 30 minutes.
  10. Do Yoga (Pranayam – Deep Breathing, Alternate Nostril Breathing & Rapid Deep Breathing).
  11. Manage your stress levels.
  12. Be a happy person generally in spite of the fact that we live in a complex world. Make life simple and enjoyable.

If the above suggestions are followed, chances are, the pimples (acne) may be lesser in frequency, number and severity.
