How-to ensure long-term wellness in young office goer

Being a young office-goer is a tough call. Right from managing work in office, he/she has to manage home and social groups too. In the rush of things, what the young office-goer often forgets is caring about one’s own health and wellness. Take care now, before it is too late.

Fifteen simple things that an office-goer can do to ensure long-term health and wellness.

  1. Be physically active (walk, run, jog, swim, stair-climb, gym – anything for 30 minutes daily)
  2. Eat well (healthy food in excess is like junk and junk food eaten rarely is not really junk)
  3. Stop smoking (even a cigarette pack has a warning)
  4. Take alcohol in moderation (in excess it is definitely a poison to your mind and liver)
  5. Have sunshine for about 15 minutes daily (Vitamin D deficiency in office-goers is now rampant)
  6. Floss your teeth at least once daily (bad dental hygiene may lead to heart attacks)
  7. Sleep well (to recover from the bashings of life)
  8. Manage Stress, Rage & Anxiety (to keep your sanity)
  9. Be kind to your colleagues (empathize)
  10. Have friends (be social; after all human beings are social animals)
  11. Do medical checks once in a year or two (prevention is better, cheaper and easier than cure)
  12. Do not drink and drive (think about self, your family and others)
  13. Work safely (learn correct ways of working, be it with a computer or a machine in a workshop)
  14. Enjoy your work; however mundane (you are paid for it and it is good for your health to work, and enjoy)
  15. Be happy (actually this should be on the top of the list)
